Before I walked around the city, I stopped for lunch. Normally I wouldn’t go to Tim Horton’s, but as a Canadian, when I see one in Scotland I have to try it. It was awful. Worse than in Canada. I figured not much could go wrong with a turkey-bacon club, but I was mistaken. 0/10, never eating at Tim Horton’s again.
While walking around I decided I’m happy I don’t have to drive here. It’s all so complex with one-way streets and other oddities at every corner. I find it bad enough driving in heavy traffic back home. There’s nothing better than an empty highway.
There are some beautiful buildings in the city centre. I passed both the Bank of Scotland and the Mitchell Library, one of Europe’s largest public libraries.
I didn’t get many good photos from the museum of transport due to the lighting. It was a cool place though, with more trains and old cars than I’ve ever seen anywhere else.
I kind of wish public transport still looked like this:
I didn’t get a photo of it, but the old subway cars were beautiful, with wooden interiors and an ornate paint style. So much better than what we have now.
It has also been snowing a fair amount here. And they don’t seem to use salt anywhere. On my slippery walks to Tesco I’ve witnessed multiple cars spinning out on the hill. I don’t think they have snow tires here.
