Inverness (and Edinburgh)

2018/05/22

Way back in March I went to Inverness with my mum and her friend Donna. I finally got the film from that trip developed and edited.

Inverness is a beautiful little town with the River Ness running through the middle of it. It was quite a long trip from Glasgow, but well worth it. The best parts in my opinion were Leakey’s Bookshop, which must be the best used bookstore in the world; and the walking path along the river, which was really scenic as the sun began to set a bit.

Inverness has a castle too, but it’s really not that impressive as far as castles go. Quite a bit more modern than other castles I’ve been to.

The next two are from along the walking trail near the end of our visit. I like the second one except for the large lens flare in the tree branches. My zoom lens seems particularly susceptible to flares. I may need to buy a bigger lens shade for it.

Two days later, we went to Edinburgh for the second time. I didn’t take too many photos because I had already been a few times, but I took a couple from Arthur’s Seat. I especially like the grain in the first one; with the castle it looks almost like a painting. The second one is of Calton Hill, a hill in the middle of Edinburgh with numerous monuments on top of it.
